Final Draft

<Robots With Common Sense>

Difficult, Dirty, Dangerous things, robots do these things instead of us as technologies are developed. For instance, already many household clean the room by automated vacuum cleaners that people don't have to work. It is equipped with a number of sensor, so vacuum can clean the room with avoiding the obstacle. Moreover, robots clean the dirty drain pipes. People can control the robots to wash up and they can watch the process by their camera. If there are not robots, human should these dirty things. Robots also surgery people in hospital. Robots are more detailed and elaborated than people, so the dangerous of surgery is less then human. Like this, Robots are helpful to human. However, According to the book named Harvard Sampler, robots don't have any common sense that human have.  Common sense is a basic ability to perceiveunderstand, and judge things, which is shared by ("common to") nearly all people, and can be reasonably expected of nearly all people without any need for debate. If we can copy our common sense to robots, our lives would be more comfortable. They can think the owners order, and judge them selves what the owner needs. However, the problems of robots with common sense includes with risk, unemployment, and humans lethargy are much bigger than convenience of robots with common sense. So we shouldn't copy our common sense to robots.

1c61203634d1b67f23763bdd79e006f3 Statistics Show How Robots are Increasing Unemployment   First, robots with common sense take our job. It means that as robots appearance, humans unemployment rate are decreased. According to the book named Robots Will Steal Your Job, But That’s OK", The author believes this taking will happen in two stages. First, computers would start replacing people in specially vulnerable fields like transportation/logistics, labor, and administrative support. Jobs in services, sales, and construction may also be lost in this first stage. Then, the rate of replacement will slow down due to bottlenecks in harder-to-automate fields such engineering. This “technological plateau” will be followed by a second wave of computerization, dependent upon the development of good artificial intelligence. This could next put jobs in management, science and engineering, and the arts at risk. Actually, now already appear the humans unemployment because of robots.
According to  upper infographic in Focus Magagine, it shows that robots takes our job in many kinds of job. Of course the robots are applicable in normal robots. If the robots with common sense appear, the unemployment rates are increased.

  There are another reasons that we shouldn't copy our common sense to robots ,and it is about robots threaten. Robots don't feel any pain and they don't have some emotions to sympathy because they are just a lump of scrap mental. At currents, The Activists warned "killer robots" could threaten human rights.Thanks to advanced engineering, technology and artificial intelligence, it could be capable of operating and firing weaponry autonomously in the not-too-distant future. But it would not be able to distinguish between combatants and civilian, and even they can notice it, as they don't have any feeling like sympathy, they would kill people indiscriminately. Even they are remarkable in memorizing, and math, so their strategy and technologies will be much better than human. Also, the renowned physicist Steven Hawking warns that rise of robots may be disastrous for mankind.

  Imagine your house with robot helper have a common sense. You don't have to make a meal ,clean up the house and even do your homework instead of you on the troublesome weekend. People must get lazy because of robots. Even they must not feel thankful for anythings. They can't feel the value of real life. According to the news script, robots makes our lives more lazy. In this script, technology is, by definition, increasing the amount of work machines do, and, by proxy, increasing the amount of laziness present among humans. As high-industries are on the rise, technology is improved on and innovated upon more and more; the open market only spurs on this trend. As a result, the more technology improves, the lazier humans as a whole become.

 Someone wonder If robots can have common sense by our technologies. But their are the scientist who created the robots with common sense almost, Ben Goertzel. It indicates that human can create the robots with common sense. Humans common sense are based on the ability to learn. For example, Babies are born with the ability to learn and seek out knowledge, in the same routes, if robots common sense are created, it will be the equivalent  will learn and seek out knowledge. If scientists develop the technologies more, we can create the robots with common sense in the early day.

  Through my topic, people can know about robot ethics. Robot ethics is the rule that  regulate ahead dangerous things that robot can cause. In 2007, South Korea tried to  publish the robot ethics charter for world first, but It didn't formalized. But it should be formalized sometime for future. Our robots technologies are developed gradually. Appearance of robots with common sense, people should regulate the humans behaviors, and ensure the safety can appear at the use process. For studying my topic, we can regulate and prevent the risk by robots in the future.

  Some said that robots with common sense are helpful in engineering, medical,  and combat. But it can make the society even confused. In the engineering, as I said, the robots take peoples jobs and makes people lazy. There also will be the problem of mass unemployment. Even in the medical, the operation error is more fatal than humans mistakes. According to the Bloomberg News, they reported in February that the FDA was surveying surgeons about the robots after an increase in reported adverse events, including 70 deaths since 2009. Reports of injuries linked to robotic surgery have more than doubled in the first eight months of this year, based on when the reports were received by the FDA, compared with the same period last year. And in the combat, Robots are dangerous weapon because they don't feel any pain and sympathy .

  Also, there are the people who argue that robots with common sense solve the society problems. For example, 'Ibo' is the pet dog robots, it can express the emotion like anger, surprising, and hunger. These robots are using well to senior citizens who live alone, and the people who needs some friends. But It even can make a backfire. The robots don't have any emotions, so people will notice they are not like human soon. Iet make the people more fufil. And it can make weaken the fellowship between human and human.

The development of robots are important to humans and our descendants. It makes humans lives more comfortable and effective. But maybe it can be a weapon or enemy to harm us. Also, robots cause an influence in the field of industry, economics, and society changes. Especially, common sense is make the robots more intelligent, powerful, and more efficiently.So for the safety of our life and society of humans, we shouldn't copy our common sense to robot.
